Occupational Therapy at Rush is beyond a health care profession. It’s an appreciation for the little things and a dedication to improving the quality of life for our patients who can’t perform basic daily functions. It’s also a singular career experience – a culture of collaboration between all the clinical units of the department, resulting in better patient outcomes. From student to clinician to management, there’s a free flow of ideas, research and learning. This, combined with Rush’s ICARE principles and overall openness throughout the department, helps us maintain our reputation for outstanding occupational therapy. With strong roots in education and teaching at Rush, our Occupational Therapy group utilizes an exclusive practitioner-teacher-investigator model. We provide our professionals with cross-training opportunities among our four clinical units, including inpatient, outpatient, psychiatry and acute care therapy.
